Fann Wong and Christopher Lee - The Wedding Banquet in Shangri-la, Singapore

After nearly 40 years (well 38 to be exact) of staying out from the sun, and 435,998,799.05 gallons of bird's nest, Fann Wong is finally walking down the aisle with Malaysian-borned husband, Christopher Lee tonight at Shangri-la, Singapore.
The couple tied the knot earlier this year , not exactly in the best style-ever.
Tonight, Fann will be wearing a strapless bustier Vera Wang wedding gown and custom-made evening gown by Swiss designer label Bally, together with $2.5 million worth of jewellery that she designed with Celestial® by Goldheart. Lee will be suited up in Zegna (but please...do up your tie).

Seems like 2009 is really a good year for weddings (just like how we "predicted"), with Khloe Kardashian who just tied the knot with Lamar Odom on Sunday in a Vera Wang gown too.

Christopher Lee and Fann Wong's wedding will be aired live tonight at 8 pm on Channel 8. (see you at Shang if you're going to be there!)

Fashion Doll Barbie's 50th Birthday

1959

now?

Guess what?

It's Barbie's 50th birthday!

As a doll, Barbie has been through much accusations, law-suits, and controversies, even more than a real human-being; From sending the wrong signals to young girls on the nearly unnatural hourglass figure, to taking legal actions against Danish band, Aqua, for mocking at Barbie, to breaking up with her long-time boyfriend, Ken in 2000 - Barbie has indeed live it all.

This year, Barbie will be participating in her first-ever runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York on February 14, 2009. For the very first time, we will witness 50 world-renowned fashion designers come together and showcase real-size, Barbie®-inspired looks at Bryant Park. In this monumental fashion celebration designers will celebrate the past, present and future of fashion, as inspired by Barbie® doll, first launched in 1959 as the "Teenage Fashion Model™."

The Runway show will be webcast live via Barbie.com.

Barbie will be receiving a birthday gift (we heard it's pink Pumps) from Christian Louboutin.

Some of Barbie's designer wardrobe from the past include Bill Blass, Oscar De La Renta, Dior, Carolina Hererra, Vera Wang, Zac Posen, just to name a few.

In Singapore, we too had our very own "Doll Me Up" exhibition in 2005, that showcased a pool of local designers' (Federick Lee, Daniel Yam, Frances Cheong) interpretation of the doll, as well as students' entries on the contest.

The exhibition was first seen in the Singapore Art Museum and later in Changi Airport.

2009 - A great year for Weddings?

After dating for 3 years, former Las vegas star, Josh Duhamel, is all set to wed London Bridge singer, Fergie this Saturday in Los Angeles.

They had their Bachelor(ette) party at a new joint, Dakota Lounge, last Wednesday.

So we heard so much rumours that Karl Lagerfeld will be designing her gown, but sources tell OK! that Fergie’s wedding gown will be Dolce & Gabbana.

Something we will know only after tomorrow.

One of Vera Wang's gown from her 2009 collection was used for Kate Hudson's character in Bride Wars.

We think that Karen Patch, the costumer designer of the show, did a really good job in portraying the two "best friend's" characters with diverse costume sets.

In the movie, Karen also used designers and brands like, Marc Jacobs, Lavendar Label Vera Wang, Prada, Calypso, Chanel, D&G, Hugo Boss, Tods, Marchesa, Burberry, Stella McCartney, Club Monaco, Tiffany, and Rag and Bone, separately to tell Anne's character from Kate's.

Like any past seasons, the 4 remaining contestants in Project runway 5 had to come up with a wedding gown (and a last minute Bridesmaid dress) that will inspire their collection for the finale event at Bryant. I love Jarell Scott's and Leanne's.
