Whether it is flashy cars, impeccable tailoring or simply just stylish people, Audi Fashion Festival 2009 played the perfect medium meshing the best of the asthetic, fashion and media worlds together almost seamlessly.
The 5-day event ended yesterday with a bang, showcasing models strutting down the runway in Vivienne Westwood's A/W Anglomania 2009 collection.
Signature volumous coiffure, draped tartans, and asymmetrical cuts; the red-haired designer was awarded with the Outstanding Achievement Award by Colin McDowell at the start of the show.
(Till we figure out how to resize our video, here's what Vivienne Westwood said in her acceptance video:
"Thank you Fashion Festival for inviting us to show our Anglomania Fashion Collection this evening. And I especially want to say thank you for honouring me with your award for Outstanding Fashion Achievement. Rather than just say have a lovely evening, enjoy the show, I would like to say something useful. All the people who are interested in fashion and especially you young people who are just starting to be fashion designer, you can start, but you WILL NOT continue to be a great fashion designer, UNLESS you involve yourself in your deep interest in culture, in your love of ART and your knowlegde of the past. It's only by that that we'll have depth to understand the present and to create and be inventive for the future. The thing is at the moment that I am practically Traumatized by the problem we face from globing warming. It is REALLY REALLY catastrophic, the disaster we are possibly facing, it's so important that people get involved with that. So having said all that, I will now come back to say one more time, please enjoy your evening, I'm delighted to be with you in spirit and I hope you enjoy our fashion show. " ~ Vivienne Westwood
